Kathy has worked in the fitness industry for over 20 years, the last 10 years as a personal trainer and life coach. She has enjoyed working with individuals to help them achieve their goals of weight loss and improved fitness through exercise and mind set changes. Her passion and focus has led her to now specialise in personal / group coaching particularly in the areas of food relationship issues and lifestyle changes.

Kathy's love of sports and exercise began at a young age. She was a junior National qualifier for swimming and a junior National finalist for Triathlon and Biathlon. As an adult she has maintained her high level of all round fitness and she enjoys a full and active family life with her two wonderful teenage sons and her partner, a practicing physiotherapist.

Throughout her younger years Kathy experienced first hand the pitfalls of yo-yo dieting, binge eating and the emotional trauma surrounding negative food relationship issues. She suffered with terrible low self-esteem, and the classic downward spiral of self-destructive behaviour resulting in further food relationship problems.

Kathy was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Restless Leg Syndrome from the early age of 23. By the age of 25 the painful spasms in her muscles had seriously affected her ability to achieve the most basic activities of daily living. Faced with these frightening thoughts and having to take escalating doses of medication, Kathy was determined to understand the triggers of her illness and how to overcome it. Understanding the connection between her mind and body from stress and trauma has led her on a holistic journey.

This resulted in Kathy developing a fit and healthy mind and body, free from pain and daily medication. She now uses her personal experience, empathy and patience to help motivate and inspire her clients.

Many wonderful professionals and friends have supported her in a long journey of transformation, lifestyle changes and inner healing which has inspired the creation of The Mind n Body Programme for weight loss and food coaching. It has been designed for people who want to achieve a stable weight but struggle with the relentless issue of yo-yo dieting, comfort or emotional eating, negative food relationships and repeated failure with weight loss and other unwanted habits.
